I just stumbled to the website of Alan Wolsfon, for me, one of the best dioarama builder in the scale modeling world today. He is a New Yorker and most of his top of the line completely handmade dioramas are from locations in #NewYork.
Like this one a big "box" the New York subway included, and when you don t know this is a diorama, you would think this is for real, it is that detailed, months of work are put in to these master dioramas.
And here the same diorama from another angle.

Really detailed and for me this man, Alan Wolfson is a Genius an master in the scale modeling world, most people don t even have heard of Alan.

Without the coin most people will think this is the "real deal" unbelievable detailed and I ask my self how many hours of work has Alan put into this diorama?

And another one of the subways of New York, and yes it is all in the same diorama.
And here is one of his most recent work, Katz s delicatessen

Here is a video of Alan Wolfson, enjoy!

The inspiration for this piece came from an old picture I found of the

Times Square area. The original Follies Burlesk stood on the corner of 46th Street and

Broadway. It was above a Howard Johnsons' Restaurant, and had the design and

look of something right out of the 1950s. I decided to incorporate some of the original

signage and combine it with a classic New York hotdog place downstairs. The view under the

Follies marquee takes you into the adult bookstore, complete with magazines and sextoys. The

bookstore would be the opening act for the main event that goes on upstairs where Miss Bunny Moore is performing this week.

The hotdog place has a completely detailed interior, and there is a view down the stairway

leading to the subway station. The movie theater next door has poster images of our now-

governor of California wreaking havoc on civilization.(1987)

"FOLLIES BURLESK"

"Wolfson’s small, sculptured environments are mini slices of life full of intriguing contradictions.

Sculpted without being sculptural, painterly without being paintings, narrative without a story, they exude a

photographic or cinematic sense of reality while rarely depicting actual scenes or places. Creating them over

the last twenty years, Wolfson has forged a unique place for himself in contemporary art."

 Greenwich Village Cigars
The original location

My sculptures are seldom an exact representation of an existing location. Usually, they are either

totally from my imagination, or a combination of details from many different environments.

I decided to recreate this Greenwich Village landmark location as close to reality as possible. One

problem with this endeavor is that not everything in reality is visually interesting, so a certain

degree of 'artistic license' was necessary.
